SUMMER SIXTY ONE
by Murray Friedman
Today Murrray lives in Oregon. His long loving wife and partner died six years back. Together they were a team who focussed upon experience while attending to a minimal of material derivatives. After WWII when Murray sailed the Pacific for two years participating in several invasions and landing at Nagasacki, Japan one month after the bomb, Murray returned to the Bronx, NY and to college, met the lovely Debra and after marriage they went to Israel for year and half to finalize their ideals in the Kibbutz. Back to the US and eventually both entered teaching where summer vacations provided time for adventures. There were summer trips to West Europe to bicycle, hitchhike and walk and meet cultures. Those were interspersed with trips to Wyoming and other Rocky Mountain states to climb and backpack. And there was the cultural scene in NYC. Writing was an ambition long savored and also self taught to hope to preserve the singularity of the individualistic outlook. That may be evident in the PROLOGUE. Much more but enough.
