Ray Gonzalez is the author of numerous award-winning books of poetry and prose, including The Heat of Arrivals, Turtle Pictures, The Hawk Temple at Tierra Grande, Consideration of the Guitar: New and Selected Poems and Cool Auditor: Prose Poems. His poetry has appeared in three editions of The Best American Poetry as well as The Pushcart Prize: Best of the Small Presses 2000. Gonzalez is the author of three collections of essays, Memory Fever, Renaming the Earth: Personal Essays, and The Underground Heart: A Return to a Hidden Landscape and the editor of twelve anthologies, most recently Sudden Fiction Latino: Short Short Stories from the U.S. and Latin America. Gonzalez is a full Professor in the MFA Creative Writing Program at The University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
